The new skyscraper in Melbourne is set to be the tallest building in Australia with a height of 356.2 meters. Building Q1 on the Gold Coast is currently probably the tallest building in Australia, but will soon be thrown from the top position due to the latest skyscrapers in Melbourne.

The Green Spine, a project designed by architects UNStudio and Cox Architecture, won the Southbank competition by Beulah. With an estimated altitude of 356.2 meters, this building defeats the height of 321.5 meters in Q1, making it the tallest building in Australia, even beating the tallest building in the southern hemisphere.

Although this building is very complicated in the early stages of planning, if the project goes according to plan, it can make an impressive addition to the Melbourne skyline, Australia. The idea is to have two towers, a Green Spine Facade and a Glass Facade that looks intertwined with each other.

↪ One tower will become a housing, while another will be used as a public space with offices, shops, entertainment and many other recreational facilities. The crown will become a botanical garden that covers the roof of the tower, adding green bursts in the middle of the building.

The focus on this design is environmentally friendly with an initial plan that calls for the building to be made from natural and original Australian materials. The ultra low carbon building system will also be home to many open spaces and there will be lots of greenery and outdoor balconies for visitors to explore.

"This building combines heritage and modernity. Our green space is the key to this, which is the lungs of our city," said architect Phil Rowe.

"When Melbourne grew to become the largest city in Australia, this enduring feature must be maintained, maintained and allowed to grow with the city and that is the idea behind the development of the Green Spine."
