Here are some food and beverage triggers for migraines based on the Migraine Research Foundation as reported by TheHealthSite, Thursday (04/10/2018).

1. Red Wine and Beer.
Research shows these two drinks as migraine triggers around 25 percent who experience daily migraines. Alcohol, in general, is a strong factor that causes migraine attacks because it can cause dehydration

2. Chocolate.
According to experts, you may have to leave chocolate to curb migraine attacks. The reason is, the second most common chocolate migraine trigger after alcohol. Chocolate causes migraine attacks in 22 percent of migraine sufferers. Caffeine and beta-phenylethylamine in chocolate can cause migraines.

3. Meat is Preserved.
Avoid all types of preserved meats such as deli meat, ham, hot dogs, and sausages that contain nitrate preservatives to maintain color and taste. These nitrates release nitric oxide into the blood which dilates blood vessels in the brain and contributes to migraines.

4. Aged Cheese.
Tyramine is present in cheese that can trigger migraines. It is formed when proteins are damaged by aging food. Feta, blue cheese and parmesan are old cheeses that contain higher tyramine and should be avoided by migraine patients.

5. Frozen Food.
Ice cream or other frozen foods cause headaches. Which eventually becomes a migraine if you eat cold food right after exercise or when your body is too hot.
